Love is Not Finite

If you simply can’t understand why someone is grieving so much for so long then consider yourself fortunate that you do not understand.

Joanna Cacciatore

Some days are harder than others. I feel Father’s Day approaching, and lately reminders have popped up of how I was created with the purpose of always being an outsider to half of my own genetic family.

I wish my biological father and his family saw me as an equal human being and not just some throwaway burden. I am having a rough time today. Moral of the story: anonymous “donations” are cruel.

If you made an anonymous donation in the past, do the right thing and acknowledge your genetic children. And if you are the spouse or child of a previous donor, treat your newly discovered family member with kindness and dignity. Please do not continue to perpetuate the cycle of this traumatic experience. Love is not finite.
